CRISPY AIR-FRYER CHICKEN WINGS WITH DRY RUB

Crispy Air Fryer Chicken Wings: These air fryer chicken wings are crispy and delicious on the outside and tender on the inside.

CRISPY WINGS IN LITTLE TIME

Craving delicious finger-licking chicken wings but don’t want the fuss of making them? Then these air fryer chicken wings are for you!

They come together in 3 simple steps and are ready to eat in no time at all. There is no need to make a batter, so no extra dishes and mess. That’s my idea of heaven!

  1. Pat dry: If you wash your poultry, be sure to pat the wings with paper towels until dried thoroughly before cooking.
  2. Season: In a bowl, mix all of the spices together with some olive oil. Make sure they are coated evenly.
  3. Bake: Spread the wings evenly on the air fryer basket and bake for about 20 minutes, turning the wings halfway through.

That’s it; you are done!

LITTLE OIL: NO COMPROMISE ON FLAVOR

I love fried food, especially fried chicken, but I am wary of all of the extra oil that comes with deep fat frying. So the air fryer has been a game-changer for me.

While it doesn’t give the food the deep crunch that battering and deep-frying do, it gives everything a wonderfully satisfying crisp that has people reaching for more. It means that I can make healthier choices for my family, and still feed them the food that we all enjoy.

Whether as part of an easy, comforting family dinner or a game night finger food feast, these air fryer chicken wings will have everyone’s mouths watering. So have the paper towels ready and get cooking!

HOW TO BAKE CRISPY CHICKEN WINGS IN THE AIR FRYER

Anyone who’s ever bitten into a well-made oven-baked chicken wings knows how delicious it can be. But, while I love baked wings, I love the fact that I can still make the same recipe in a lesser time in my air fryer without getting the whole house heated up from the heat from my oven.

If you have tried baked wings without a crispy result. Don’t worry; this recipe will give you the right direction for perfectly crispy air-fried chicken wings.

A few simple steps and the magic of the air fryer means that you get perfect wings every time, with less oil and in a fraction of the time:

  • Seasoning: It’s important to have the perfect blend of seasoning to enjoy the wings.
  • Temperature: The air fryer should be HOT. 400F does the trick.
  • Oil: The light coating of oil helps get the seasoning stick to the wings and also helps get the crisping process started.
  • Flip: Flipping them halfway through makes sure they have a chance to cook evenly and to crisp.

How long do they take to cook?

These air fryer chicken wings are perfect for those nights when you don’t want to spend too much time in the kitchen but still want tasty, wholesome food to eat. In the hot temperature of the air fryer, they take only 16 minutes to cook to crispy, juicy, chicken wing perfection.

What you will need for the spice rub

A few store cupboard staples are all you need to bring extra flavor, smokiness, and an earthy warmth to these air fryer chicken wings. All you will need is;

  • Garlic Powder
  • Onion Powder
  • Ground cumin
  • Smoked paprika
  • Cayenne pepper
  • Salt and pepper

This mix can, of course, be adapted to suit your own personal preferences and the occasion you are cooking for.

What to serve with air fryer chicken wings?

Serve these chicken wings hot and fresh from the fryer with your favorite dipping sauces.

For an easy meal that I know my family will love, I like to serve them with creamy mashed potatoes and collard greens.

They are also perfect, fun, finger-licking food on games or movie nights. Try serving them alongside crispy baked potato wedges and my air fryer crispy baked Potatoes to keep hands, hearts, and stomachs full.

Recipe Notes.

  • For extra crispy skin, pat the wings with a paper towel before adding to the spice mix to absorb any excess moisture. Leaving them uncovered in the fridge for an hour will also dry them out nicely.
  • Please be sure to space out the wings in the air fryer. Don’t be tempted to overcrowd it otherwise, you will not get the desired crispiness.
  • Once cooked, these wings can be kept covered in the fridge for up to 4 days. They will lose their crispness but can be placed back in a preheated air fryer or oven for a few minutes to bring them back to life.
  • Don’t overcrowd the chicken wings in the air fryer. If they are sitting too close together, they won’t cook and crisp as evenly.
